Choosing The Right Plan

Medicare doesn’t cover everything.

That’s why Coventry offers both Medicare Advantage plans (also called Part C) and stand-alone Medicare Prescription Drug coverage (also called Part D).

Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C)

Medicare Advantage plans are offered by private companies, like Coventry Health Care, that contract with Medicare to provide Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) benefits to people with Medicare who enroll in the plan. Most of Coventry Health Care’s Medicare Advantage plans also include Part D (prescription drug) coverage. And our plans offer other benefits, like health club membership and dental, hearing and vision coverage. (Plan benefits vary.)

Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D)

These plans, like First Health Part D (PDP) from Coventry Health Care, add drug coverage to Original Medicare. Even if you don’t take many prescriptions now, you should consider joining a Medicare drug plan. If you decide not to join a Medicare drug plan when you’re first eligible, and you don’t have other creditable prescription drug coverage, or you don’t get Extra Help, you’ll likely pay a late enrollment penalty if you join a plan later. To get Medicare prescription drug coverage, you must join a plan run by an insurance company or other private company approved by Medicare—like First Health Part D from Coventry Health Care.
